Feb. 13th, 2011 @ 12:34 am [Tutorial] Heart Motif #1
Tutorial : Heart Motif #1
Level : Beginner
Technique : Crossweaving

Equipment :
- Crystal bicone 4mm
- Seed bead 11/0
- Nylon thread no.25

This is not my design. I took it from my old Japanese bead book.

Please choose your own colors. I use different colors here so that you can follow the tutorial easily.

1.

Cut the nylon thread around 100 cm. Add three crystals. Cross the threads at the two seed beads (red arrow).

2.

Add one crystal to each thread. Cross both threads at the crystal (red arrow).

3.

Add one crystal to each thread. Cross both threads at the two seed beads (red arrow).

4.

Add one crystal to each thread. Cross both threads at the two seed beads (red arrow).

5.

Add one crystal to each thread. Cross both threads at the crystal (red arrow).

6.

Add one crystal to each thread. Cross both threads at the two seed beads (red arrow).

7.

Add one crystal to each thread. Cross both threads at the two seed beads (red arrow).

8.

Before you proceed further, please check with the photo whether you get it right.

9.

We connect the two ends together.

Add one crystal to one thread (red arrow). Pass the thread to the center crystal in step 1 (blue arrow). Cross both threads at the crystal (green arrow).

Again, please don't mind the different color. I use opal color here so that you can see that this is the connection point.

10.

We will zip the side together. Turn your motif to the side.

Put each thread to the next red crystal on each side (red arrows). Cross both threads at a crystal (blue arrow).

11.

Put the thread into the next red two crystals (red arrows). Cross both threads at the crystal (blue arrow).

12.

Put each thread to each red crystal on both sides (red arrows). Cross both threads at the red crystal (blue arrow).

13.

We will zip the other side of the motif too.

Put the thread into the two seed beads. And put the other thread to the red crystal. Cross both threads at the red crystal (red arrow).

14.

Put each thread into the next red crystal on each side (red arrows). Cross both threads at the crystal (blue arrow).

15.

Put the thread into the next two crystals (red arrows). Cross both threads at the crystal (blue arrow).

16.

Put each thread into the next crystal on each side (red arrows). Cross both threads at the crystal (blue arrow). Feel free to string back into the beads as you wish.

Done!

I hope it is not very confusing. It's quite hard to make a tutorial for 3D piece.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Wow...this is gorgeous and as always you have the best tutorials. Love that close-up lens!!!

Going to try this...as a novice, I still get fingers all tangled up trying to follow directions but I will figure it out.

Thanks!!!!

I love making these hearts! I strung 3 of them on a thin chain and they look great!
