Oct. 30th, 2010 @ 12:37 am [Tutorial] Crystal Bracelet #20
Tutorial : Crystal Bracelet #20
Level : Intermediate
Technique : Cross-weaving

The design is from the book "Rocca #4".

This is similar to this bracelet. I think it is lovely so I make one and prepare a tutorial for you here.

Equipment :
- Swarovski Bicone Crystal 4 mm.
- Seed Bead 11/O
- Nylon Thread No.25
- Clasp and Jumprings

I use the opal crystals. They are Pacific Opal, White Opal, Violet Opal, Rose Water Opal and Air Blue Opal.

1.

Cut the nylon thread (I'm sorry I can't remember how long but I can't finish in one go with 1.5 m.)

Make a ring of seven seed beads.

2.

Add six seed beads and one crystal to one thread. Add one crystal to the other thread. Cross them at a seed bead (red arrow).

3.

Add three seed beads to one thread. Cross both threads at a seed bead (red arrow).

4.

Put the thread into the two nearby seed beads (red arrows).

5.

Add one crystal and one seed bead to the thread. Put the same thread back into the crystal and into the next seed bead (red arrow).

6.

Add one crystal and one seed bead. Put the same thread back into the crystal and into the next seed bead (red arrow). Pull the thread tightly and arrange the crystals in place.

7.

Put the same thread back into the seed bead (red arrow), crystal (blue arrow) and the seed bead (green arrow).

8.

Add one crystal the the same thread. Add one crystal, one seed bead and one crystal to the other thread. Cross both threads at the seed bead (red arrow).

9.

Add three seed beads to one thread. Cross both threads at the seed bead (red arrow).

10.

Put the thread into the next two nearby seed beads (red arrows).

11.

Add one crystal and one seed bead to the same thread. Put the thread back into the crystal and the next seed bead (red arrow).

12.

Add one crystal and one seed bead to the same thread. Put the thread back into the crystal and the next seed bead (red arrow). Pull the thread tightly and arrange the crystals in place.

13.

Put the same threads into the next seed beads (red arrow), a crystal (blue arrow) and a seed bead (green arrow).

14.

Add one crystal to the same thread. Add one crystal, one seed bead and one crystal to the other thread. Cross both threads at a seed bead (red arrow).

15.

This is the same pattern from the step 3 onwards. Repeat until you reach the desired length.

16.

This is the other end of the bracelet.

Add five seed beads to one thread. Cross both threads at a seed bead (red arrow).

17.

Add six seed beads to form a ring. Weave the threads back into the beads to tighten the bracelet if you want.

Add jumprings and clasp. Done!

I hope you will enjoy this tutorial. Happy beading!

Gaps

(Permanent Link)
I keep getting gaps when I do step number 8 even if I tighten it. Any ideas how I can fix that?

Thanks,
Tracy

I think I also have a gap when I did this bracelet. What I did is, after you finish step 8, use one thread to pass through the crystals and seed beads again. Then cross the threads at the seed bead (red arrow). This can help to tighten this loop.

Crystal Bracelet #20

Thank you so much for your tutorials and the pictures of each step. Your work is lovely. I have never beaded but after reading two of your tutorials I think I can do it. I want to make this bracelet for my 21 year old grand-daughter. I've never cared for the opal colored beads. But in this bracelet they are lovely. I will be buying the opal beads. Bless you. Many thanks.
