I'm not sure the exact color name for 11/0 since I picked them from my stash. The dark bronze is matsuno, I will refer it as 11/0 color A. The silverlined light purple is miyuki, as 11/0 color B.

Actually, you can use just one color for both bicone and seed beads. I use two colors because it's easy to point out where you need to go.

The technique is Russian Spiral. Please be noted that from step 7 to the end, the pictures will be difficult to understand, and sadly, I don't know how to draw a diagram. So just stick with one crystal, one 11/0 and two 11/0s, and pass through 11/0 from the previous round.

1.

001

On comfortable length of thread, pick up one pearl, three 11/0 color A, one 11/0 color B, and three 11/0 color A.

Pass through the pearl.

2.

002

Pick up three 11/0 A, one 11/0 B and three 11/0 A. Pass through the pearl.

3.

003

Pass through the next seven 11/0s, pick up 11/0 B and pass through the next seven 11/0s. Pick up 11/0 B and pass through the next 11/0. You can pass through all the 11/0s. This is your base. Exit at any 11/0 B.

4.

004

I'm right handed and prefer to work counter clockwise, so from the previous step, I turn it upside down.

Pick up crystal A, 11/0 B and two 11/0 A. Pass through the next 11/0 B at the base (red arrow).

5.

005

Pick up crystal B, 11/0 B, and two 11/0 A. Pass through the next 11/0 B at the base (red arrow).

6.

006

Repeat step 5 and 6 to complete the first round.

Pass through the first crystal A and 11/0 B (red arrows).

7.

007

We begin the second round here.

Pick up crystal B, 11/0 B and two 11/0 A. Pass through 11/0 B from the first round (red arrow).

8.

008

Pick up crystal A, 11/0 B and two 11/0 A. Pass through the next 11/0 B from the first round (red arrow).

9.

009

Repeat step 7 and 8 to complete the round.

Pass through the first crystal B and 11/0 B (red arrows).

10.

010

I'm sorry the picture is hard to understand, but I believe you should get it by now how to do this third round. This is the same as in step 7 - 9.

Pick up crystal A, 11/0 B and two 11/0 A. Pass through 11/0 B from the second round (red arrow).

11.

011

Pick up crystal B, 11/0 B and two 11/0 A. Pass through the next 11/0 B from the second round (red arrow).

12.

012

Repeat step 10 - 11 to complete this round. Pass through the first crystal A and 11/0 B (red arrows).

13.

013

Pick up three 11/0 A. Pass through 11/0 B from the previous round (red arrow).

14.

014

Repeat step 13 to add three 11/0 A all around.

Exit at the third 11/0 A (red arrow).

15.

015

Pick up a pearl and pass through 11/0 A at the opposite side (red arrow).

Pass through the next six 11/0s (blue arrow).

16.

016

Pass through the pearl and 11/0 A at the opposite side (red arrow).

Pass through the next six 11/0 (blue arrow).

You can pass through all beads again for extra security.

17.

017

This is how I added the ear hook.

Pick up 11/0 B, three 11/0 A, ear hook, three 11/0 A and 11/0 B.

18.

018

Pass through 11/0 A at the opposite (red arrow).

Pass through the next six 11/0s (blue arrow).

19.

019

Pick up 11/0 B and pass through 11/0 A (red arrow). Pass through the next 11/0s to the other side.

20.

020

Pick up 11/0 B and pass through 11/0 A (red arrow). You can pass through all beads again for extra security.

R002

This is my first experiment. The colors are
- Cyrstal 4mm Hyacinth 2X (A), Peridot 2X (B)
- Pearl 6mm White
- Miyuki 11/0 Duracoat Gold #4202 (A), Chartreuse Lined Green AB #354 (B)

If it is still confusing, just refer to basic russian spiral. There are many tutorials from various blogs and youtube. I also recommend Beth Stone's book, Seed Bead Stitching. Very good book for beginners.

Happy beading!
